Another beautiful day in Kona and the taper continues to wind down to race day.
This morning started with a beautiful one hour aerobic run along Alii Drive. I got out early to beat the rush as yesterday it was crazy watching the who's who of Ironman running up and down the 9 mile stretch.
After our morning Lava Java we picked up last years womens champ Chrissie Wellington and hit the pool for a swim set. Once again their were plenty of contenders having their morning swim. Craig Alexander in one lane, Rutger Beke pumping out some laps beside him, Craig McKenzie of Australia was next to him and Normann Stadler and his Dresdner Kleinwort possey dominating the pool with Mathias Hecht and Chrissie. Cam Brown even made a cameo appearance finishing up his morning run.
This afternoon the Vog (Volcanic Fog) set in for the first time since we have been on the Island. The Vog comes from the south of the Island where the active volcanos are located. Hopefully it doesn't hang around or get worse leading up to the race.
Tomorrow mum and dad arrives in Kona. I am really looking forward to seeing them for the first time since April!

My girls (minus one) Maybe if I give Chrissie some swim tips she will teach me how to dominate 4 straight Ironmans?
