KONA UPDATE (11 days to go)

I am back on the Big Island and it's Ironman time. There is nothing better than landing at Kona airport and walking down those stairs off your plane to feel the humidity and heat on your skin. Then you drive into Kona town and the smell of the ocean hits you and the sea birds are chirping. It unlike anywhere else in the world ... Kona has it's own distinct feel.

The last few days we have got in the last few hit outs on the course before we really start to rest up this weekend and into race week. It's been very humid, hot and windy for the past few days with the occasional afternoon sprinkling of rain.

Today we rode out the Queen K for 3 hours and did a few TT hits behind the scooter. It was HOT and WINDY. Come next Sunday if the wind is up like that and the heat and humidity stick around it will definitely be a tougher race than the previous few years. I can only hope!
