WELCOME TO BRAZIL

We made it. The travel here was brutal and I am glad I have been officially sacked by Amanda on organizing any future flights. Our trip took us from Kona - Seattle (2hr layover) Miami (12 hr layover) Charlotte (3 hr layover) Rio de Janeiro (2hr layover) Sao Paulo (2 hr layover) and finally Florianopolis. We left midday Saturday in Hawaii and arrived at out hotel here in Brazil at 7pm Monday night! I think the 12hr stop over for the day in Miami saved us. We were able to hire a car and head to South Beach for a light swim and relax on the beach before we continued our journey.

It was nice to wake up to the sound of crashing waves on Tuesday morning. We slept well after our long flight and we were ready to explore Florianopolis. In the morning we got into the wetsuits and went for a swim in the ocean. After a small mishap with my headset that took half the day to fix we got out on the bike for the afternoon to finally get a ride in and see some of the area. Two flats wasn't the ideal start but we got to see most of the run and a little bit of the bike course. There are some killer hills in the run!

Finished the day with a nice sunset jog along the beach esplanade before dinner at the Sushi restaurant. Great first day in Brazil!

Welcome to Brazil!
