TRAINING TO IRONMAN COEUR D'ALENE - DAY 4 MEDFORD TO BEND

Crater Lake, Oregon
40 degrees and snow!
Aussie pride!

Deschute river - Bend

We are in Oregon! We woke to grey sky i nMedford but as we drove towards Crater Lake the sun appeared. As we climbed to Crtaer lake (6500ft) the temperature dropped to the mid 40's. With plenty of snow around it was clear it might not be a good idea to ride our intended training ride around the Crater rim. The East section of the loop was closed due to the snow so we checked out the Crater and continued onto Bend. We would swap tomorrows intended training and run and swim in bend instead (ride tomorrow).

We rolled into Bend just after lunch. What a cool town! We happend to arrive on a good weekend as they were having the annual "Bite on Bend" food festival. After checking out the town we went for a run along the beautiful Deschutes river that windes it's way through town. Then it was over to the pool for our swim. Bend has a great pool complex .... I was very impressed! Looking forward to another day of training in Bend tomorrow before heading to Coeur d'Alene on Monday :-)
