KONA UPDATE (2 days to go)

The countdown to race day continues ... only 2 to go! The past few days have been filled with some light training, organizing things for race day, a few sponsor appearances but mostly just sitting on the couch relaxing.

Some pretty cool stuff has gone on over the last few days.

Tuesday we popped into Lava Java and checked out the new "Triathlete special" menu that includes the "McKenzie Shake" ... very cool. K-Swiss have struck a deal with Lava Java to use it as a bit of a hang out and promotional space so the menu includes some of the K-Swiss sponsored athletes which is awesome!

It's not every day you get a beverage named after you!
The "McKenzie Shake" 20 oz. of Banana goodness!
Bek Keat and Amanda enjoying a very uncrowded Lava Java

I also swam the course with Benjamin Sanson, Chris McCormack and Tim Marr. I think Benji will be the one to watch in the water on Saturday and I am sure he will lead out by a minute or two (at least)

Tuesday night we went on a boat cruise courtesy of K-Swiss, BlueSeventy, Nuun, FuelBelt and Fi'zi:k. It was a great night to catch up with all my sponsors and relax a bit given the crazy week.

Wednesday our K-Swiss uniforms arrived ... very awesome in White and Blue!

I'd like to see Matt go for the "All white" Sindballe style with the high socks and arm warmers on race day ... haha

Guy gave me my new Kona edition BlueSeventy Point Zero 3 swim skin with the new Silver back ... very cool!

Alex, Michael and Rob from Sram made some last minute adjustments to my bike to make sure it's all ready to rock on Saturday. Brian from Zipp hooked me up with a new front wheel and pimped me out with some new bottle cages ... thanks guys. Between those guys and Scott and Adrian from Scott I have a really great crew to work with on my bike!

Today (Thursday) has been a little more relaxed. This morning we went to the PowerBar team breakfast which was great. We got some new products (very tasty) and chatted it up with all the other team members. There was even a champagne toast and some live entertainment.

After our delicious breakfast I went and registered, picked up my numbers etc. You know the race is very close when you are sitting in that chair going through the process.

This afternoon was the Pro meeting. There are so many people racing this year. 140 in the Pro mens field! One thing is for sure it is going to be a tight race, there are literally 30 - 40 guys that have a shot at top 10. I hope I can get up there?!

Lastly .. It's the "Emans" 40th Birthday today. Erik is the man at K-Swiss! Happy B'Day mate!
