We drove on to Santa Cruz for lunch and a nap in the back of GT. Then it was to the University of Santa Cruz (UCSC) for our swim. It was great to get in a 50m pool after swimming in a 25m for as long as I can remember.
It was another boiling hot day. The thermometer in GT read 102 degrees as we dropve towards San Francisco along the coastal highway. We arrived at marina Green to a beautiful afternoon. I was excited to run the Escape from Alcatraz course again (but this time in good weather conditions) It's never warm for Alcatraz!!! The sun was setting over the Pacific as we rounded the Golden Gate bridge and down to Baker Beach. Up the notorious Sand ladder and back into Crissy Field. Another solid day logged in the training diary. 500 miles towards Idaho down!
We enjoyed some Clam Chowder down at Fishermans Wharf for dinner before calling it a night.
